Neverwinter Nights 2
"Stay close...and step...where I step."
Obsidian Entertainment's NWN2 is an epic RPG with fantastic visuals and a storyline to match. With large shadow maps and texture sets, this game can push even the best cards to the limit. In addition, it comes free with the Leadtek PX8800GT, making it an obvious test choice.
A video of the approximate NWN2 game play experience during testing is below. Feel free to follow the line graphs over the 300-second time span while the video is playing, or reference the MIN/MAX/AVG chart for summary FPS data. Audio quality is not a priority, and we recommend turning down the volume.

High Quality Graphs: NWN2DX9, NWN2DX9MMA
NWN2 shows that a two-year-old game can still require heavy hardware. UXGA resolution is unplayable with a 13FPS average. The resolution of 1024x768 holds a respectable 27FPS average during our test runs. Close behind is 1280x1024 with a 25FPS average.
The game play nature of NWN2 allows for lower FPS while still maintaining playability. BHFO suggests maximum settings at 1024x768 with medium Environment Shadow (far) combined with only 2-4x AA. A game play level based on personal preference between detail and fluid FPS is achievable for a wide range of tastes. Based on personal experience, obtaining an acceptable compromise on the 8800GTS was a painful task. The lengthy tweak period required for the GTS ultimately left us desiring more. The PX8800GT gave new breath to the game and enabled a more immersive experience.
