After working hard for two weeks, we have completed the testing and data gathering for our review hardware. However, in order to maintain his academic goals with the goals of this website in regards to financial upkeep, Chris Hunter is packing up and moving to Nevada to use a scholarship available to him at UNR. As soon as he is settled(4-7days), he will write up the reviews and publish them. We appreciate our reader's patience as we grow into a full time site.
Matthew finished a review today and Chris will post it when he arrives in his final location later in the week.
**Update**The move to Nevada is complete with a few minor housing obstacles
cleared. Charter Communications had a long wait for new service, but all is
well and Chris has internet. He will be building his network over the next 24
hours and start working on site content. We apologize for the delays.
BHFO has been almost overwhelmed with an influx of new
review hardware. Matthew Bradford, our recently promoted hardware editor, is
reviewing a NX8800GT OC 512MB from MSI. Chris Hunter is reviewing a N9600GT
512M OC from MSI and the Reaper XXL from XtracPads.
Later this week, Matthew will receive two 8800GTS G92s(XFX PVT88GYDD4) from XFX for review and an ASUS VW193T Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor.
Chris will also has recieved a 9800GTX (EVGA 512-P3-N871-AR) from EVGA.
<**Update**: The 9800GTX has arrived.
**Update**: Matthew's two 8800GTS G92s from XFX arrived over the weekend.>
Other than the big hitters, here is a preview of the
hardware Chris recieved in the last week. Stay tuned, and a big thanks goes out to
our readers from the BHFO crew.
BHFO would like to welcome our newest
affiliate, PCSTATS to our Event Horizon. They start out of the gates with a
beginners guide to making older software compatible with the always-resistant
Windows Vista. Covering AMD's new processors is bit-tech with the errata free
versions of the Phenom quad-core line. Finally, Console enthusiasts need to
check out engadget for the PS3 laptop video, it is impressive to say the least.
Chris is still developing BHFO's testing
methodology for network products in order to review the WRT350N. In the mean
time, we received some XTracPads from PCXmods. They were generous enough to
send us the "Fat Mat" and the "Reaper XXL" variants. BHFO
will have the reviews published after this weekend.
OCZ's EliteXStream kilowatt power supplies are not short of
coverage. TweakTown has an interesting opinion about the state of video card
releases. Lastly, Eee PCs are a hot item today as well.
