The incredibly lucky guys over at pconline.com.cn have yet
another staggering review of new video card hardware. Instead of NVIDIA running
the show, AMD really pulled through and shined. Once again, Chris combed,
analyzed, and organized the data. Read on to look at the results and specification
for this new AMD-ATi HD 3870X2 graphics card. The release date is TODAY on 01-23-08**.
**Update** It looks like ATi pushed back the release
date to January 28, 2008. This move is to allow time for AMD to improve the
drivers, as well as launch all of their cards at the same time. This was so
sudden that many companies could not react in time, and that is why there are
many "leaks" out on the internet.

The field of display
technology has seen some impressive announcements recently, but this one tops
the charts for this crew. The University of Washington has implemented microscopic
manufacturing or self-assembly (capillary forces) to make a new kind of contact
lens. This contact has a microscopic imprinted circuit with light emitting
capabilities. This kind of breakthrough opens the door to a host of possible
applications, including HUD overlays and immersive displays. Do not get too
excited yet, read on about the prototype technology.
